  • The 11 principles of lifting
  • Information on clothing and appropriate footwear
  • Maintenance of the workplace
  • Co-operation of trained employees.

Practical elements include

Manual handling of inanimate loads

Assisted walking

Siting and standing a person

Siting a person up in bed

Moving a person from bed to other surface

USe of lifting equipment - hoist, etc.

Course tutors are highly experienced and will ensure class participation so that individual handling issues will be addressed.
